I've got 3 afternoon games that fit my TTF recommendation criteria.
1:10pm: Twins +125 RH Phil Hughes (1-0, 1.50 ERA) vs. Tigers -138 RH Jordan Zimmermann (1-0, 1.50)
Minnesota (5-3) has had some tough luck in the first two games of this series, losing 2-1 and 5-3. Both starters performed well in their first starts and with a cold afternoon in the forecast, pitchers should have an edge. I see a relatively low scoring contest, but with a +0.29 TTF match up rating, I like MIN to take the series finale. One unit.
2:20pm: Dodgers +122 LH Hyun-Jin Ryu (0-1, 3.86 ERA) vs. Cubs -135 LH Brett Anderson (0-0, 1.59)
Chicago C Wilson Contreras has hit safely in all six games he has played this season (.292). The first two games of this series have been low scoring and I see another one today. Cubs closer Hector Rondon injured his knee last night and will likely be unavailable today. Edge Dodgers, especially with a +0.426 TTF rating. One unit on LAD.
3:37pm: Rangers -137 RH Yu Darvish (0-1, 3.65 ERA) vs. Angels +124 RH Ricky Nolasco (0-1, 3.86)
The 6-3 Angels lost for the first time in 5 games last night. If Nolasco can keep Texas from going deep (AL best 16 HR's) then I like LAA +0.477 TTF match up rating to take the series rubber match. One unit.
Update - 3:30pm - 4 evening plays added
6:10pm: White Sox +168 RH Miguel Gonzalez (1-0, 3.00 ERA) vs. Indians -187 RH Josh Tomlin (0-1, 11.57)
The teams have split a pair of 2-1 contests so far in this series. Chicago rates +0.301 TTF for this matchup. Pretty good value. One unit play.
7:07pm: Orioles +110 RH Kevin Gausman (0-0, 5.40 ERA) vs. Blue Jays -120 LH Francisco Liriano (0-0, 135.00)
Baltimore is 5-2, Toronto is 1-7. Liriano was a disaster in his first start. Take the O's at plus money here and run. The TTF has this one rated BAL +9.369 (skewed with Liriano's stats) but still...... One strong unit on Baltimore.
8:15pm: Athletics +118 RH Jesse Hahn (0-0, 3.00 ERA) vs. Royals -130 LH Jason Vargas (1-0, 1.50)
The 5-4 A's go for the series sweep tonight vs. 2-6 Kansas City. Oakland's Khris Davis has a 7 game hitting streak and is batting .353 with 4 homers. A's have a +0.297 TTF rating here. Take them for a unit.
10:15pm: Rockies +156 RH Jon Gray (0-0, 5.79 ERA) vs. Giants -173 LH Madison Bumgarner (0-1, 3.00)
A tough task to go against Bumgarner, but 6-4 Colorado has a +0.183 TTF match up rating here vs. 4-6 San Francisco. Risky to go against MadBum - but if you're going to do it, this is a decent spot. One unit.
