The Giants took 2 of 3 at Arizona in their opening series. The Padres dropped 2 of 3 at the L.A. Dodgers.
San Diego sends out right hander Ian Kennedy to start their home opener. Kennedy is 9-4 lifetime vs. the Giants. San Francisco counters with veteran righty Tim Hudson who is 7-4 against SD.
The fact that the Padres scored 14 runs in 3 games against the Dodgers is a good sign that they are on their way to correcting a big weakness from a year ago - scoring runs. I look for a solid outing from Kennedy to give the fans at Petco Park an enjoyable, winning home opener.
