***This is not a Triple Trend Formula prediction. TTF picks will begin when both teams in a matchup have played 5 games, in the meantime, here's my game analysis***
MLB Opening day is here and as I look at the schedule, I see three instances where the home team is the betting underdog. Let's take a look at these three games and see if any of these dogs are worth a wager.
3:05pm - Boston -115 at Philadelphia +105 O/U 7.5
The Phillies are just a slight underdog here, but one nonetheless. The Red Sox added a couple of nice offensive pieces in the offseason in Ramirez and Sandoval, but starting pitching rules. I give Philly starter Cole Hamels the edge over Boston's Clay Bucholz here and therefore will be willing to wager on the Phillies.
Philadelphia 4 Boston 2
7:10pm - Cleveland -117 at Houston +107 O/U 7.5
Also, not a huge underdog, the Astros still come in to today's opener at home as the betting longshot. Unlike Boston/Philly the favored Indians do have the starting pitching edge in Cory Kluber, who won the AL Cy Young last season. Houston starter Dallas Kuechel is a fine pitcher himself, just not at Kluber's level, yet. Look for a fast start from Cleveland OF Michael Brantley, too.
Cleveland 6 Houston 2
10:10pm - San Francisco -138 at Arizona +128 O/U 7.5
The defending World Series champs are the decided favorite in this one. Despite their sluggish spring training and the loss of several key players, Bumgarner takes the hill and has the big edge over his counterpart Collmenter. Simply because of Bumgarner, I have to take SF to win this one.
San Francisco 3 Arizona 1
