I don't see any real value in the two afternoon MLB match ups, but I'll have several evening plays. Here's my first two.
7:05pm: Cardinals +129 RH Michael Wacha (1-0, 1.50 ERA) vs. Yankees -143 RH Masahiro Tanaka (0-1, 11.74)
New York (5-4) has won 4 straight, but Tanaka has not pitched well yet. St. Louis (3-6) starter Wacha has. Take the Cardinals with a +0.320 TTF match up rating for a unit.
7:10pm: Rays +114 RH Chris Archer (1-0, 2.45 ERA) vs. Red Sox -126 RH Rick Porcello (1-0, 4.38)
It's a bit of a leap to back Archer against Boston (0-5, 5.86 ERA in five 2016 starts), especially against Porcello. However, the TTF rated TB +0.129 for this match up, so I'll step up and take the Rays for a unit.
5:10pm update - 5 more evening games.
7:10pm: Mets -143 RH Noah Syndergaard (1-0, 0.69 ERA) vs. Marlins +129 RH Edinson Volquez (0-1, 3.27)
NY's Yoenis Cespedes has 5 homers in the last 3 games, 6 overall. Miami's Volquez gets the start in place of Conley, who pitched in last night's 16 inning affair (Mets won 9-8). Tough to go against Syndergaard, but the TTF says MIA +0.025 for this one, so I'll go in for a unit.
8:10pm: White Sox +129 RH Dylan Covey (NR) vs. Twins -143 LH Adalberto Mejia (0-1, 10.80 ERA)
25 year old Covey makes his MLB debut for 4-4 Chicago. Minnesota is 6-3 and sends 23 year old Mejia out for just his second MLB start. I have CWS rated +1.242 on the TTF for this one. One unit.
8:15pm: Angels +140 RH JC Ramirez (2-0, 5.40 ERA) vs. Royals -155 LH Danny Duffy (1-0, 2.08)
The 6-4 Angels will have Ramirez make his first MLB start tonight. The Royals' Duffy is tough at home, but I'm not sure KC will score enough. With a +0.212 TTF match up rating, the Angels are a 1 unit play.
10:10pm: Rangers +136 LH Martin Perez (1-1, 2.38 ERA) vs. Mariners -151 RH Felix Hernandez (0-1, 4.09)
Texas is just 4-5, but they are 4-2 in their last 6. Seattle comes in at 2-8 and is likely favored because Hernandez is pitching. He hasn't been impressive in his first two starts. I have TEX rated +0.609 here and will play them for a unit.
10:15pm: Rockies LH Tyler Anderson (1-1, 8.44 ERA) vs. Giants RH Johnny Cueto (2-0, 4.50)
The 7-4 Rockies opened the series with a 3-1 win on Thursday. Closer Greg Holland is 6 for 6 in save opportunities. Cueto has half of San Francisco's (4-7) wins. COL rates +0.268 on the TTF here, good for a 1 unit play.
Good luck, players!
