5/18 – Season’s first 2 unit MLB recommendation this evening – TTF plays

Back at it after a 3 week layoff.  This time has allowed the underlying metrics of the Triple Trend Formula (TTF) to become more relevant.  I've got two plays this evening with the season's first 2 unit play included.

7:10pm (game 2): Rockies +108 RH Tyler Chatwood (3-5, 5.25 ERA) vs. Twins -118 RH Jose Berrios (1-0, 1.17)

Berrios looks to repeat his performance of 5/13 vs. the Indians where he went 7.2 innings giving up just one run and two hits while striking out 4 in a 4-1 win.  It was his first MLB appearance this season after starting in Triple A.

Chatwood has given up 3 or more runs in a inning 6 times this season.  Still, not enough to back MIN as Berrios was just 3-7 with an 8.02 ERA in 2016 (14 starts).  COL has a +1.233 TTF advantage and I'm backing them for a unit.

8:15pm: Yankees -115 LH Jordan Montgomery (2-2, 4.19 ERA) vs. Royals +105 LH Danny Duffy (2-3, 3.38)

New York has taken the first two of this series in impressive fashion, 7-1 and 11-7.  Duffy has been solid in his last two starts, but this Yankee lineup is red-hot and Montgomery is proving he belongs in the NYY rotation.  With a +3.558 TTF rating, I recommend the Yankees for 2 units here.

Good luck, players!
