NCAAF – Week 2

Week 1 results:  6-9-1 (40%), -3.13 units, -9.78% ROI

A reminder, I no longer require a subscription to access the handicapping tables, including these NCAAF Calculated Relative Spread (CRS) tables.  I want as many players as possible to have access to this handicapping tool.  Instead, I'm taking a leap of faith in relying on those that see a benefit in using the tables to contribute an amount in line with what they think it's worth to them.  It's an easy PayPal.Me transaction here.  Thank you in advance.

Head coach Darrell Hazell’s first game at Purdue? A 42-7 drubbing at the hands of the Bearcats in 2013, the last meeting between the teams. The Bearcats trailed UT-Martin 7-6 at halftime before storming back with 22 points in the second half to win their opener last Thursday.

Comments:
The Razorbacks rallied for a 21-20 victory over Louisiana Tech in their opener. Seeing 59 points on the scoreboard in the opener continued a recent TCU trend of racking up the touchdowns. But the 41 points allowed were still bothering Horned Frogs coach Gary Patterson this week.

Sat., Sept. 10 7:30pmNorth Carolina -7.5Illinois +7.5

Comments:
The Tar Heels are coming off a 33-24 loss to No. 9 Georgia, a game in which they led heading into the fourth quarter. It’s not hyperbole to say that Saturday’s matchup with North Carolina is the biggest game for the Illinois football program since at least 2011.
Sat., Sept. 10 7:30pmIowa State +15.5(10) Iowa -15.5
Simple Rating System (SRS)-7.00.0
Defense (ppg)+1 (25.0)+1 (21.0)

Recommended bet (units)ISU +15.5 (2 units)-------
Comments:
The Hawkeyes gave up 158 yards on the ground last week against Miami (Ohio), 37 more yards per game than Iowa allowed on average a year ago. Only two FBS teams, Missouri and Navy, returned fewer career starts than the six totaled by ISU’s starting front five in its opener vs. UNI. Center Brian Bobek, a graduate transfer from Minnesota, had five of those starts.
